The team behind Abbeyfield Gloucestershire Society
It’s a fantastic environment here at Abbeyfield House in Chipping Sodbury. We have created a brilliant family feel and I am proud to be part of the team.
Hello! I am Stacey Meadowcroft. I have the honour of leading Abbeyfield Gloucestershire as the General Manager. I am responsible for our incredible staff team, making sure all our tenants are safe and happy and also reporting to our active and engaged board of trustees, who are charged with ensuring that our Abbeyfield Gloucestershire family can continue long into the future. I started my career working with young people as a youth worker for 15 years. I gained experience managing charities and working with a wide range of professionals. My Abbeyfield journey happened quite by accident. I gave up my business during Covid and was looking for some part time work. Quite simply I fell in love with Abbeyfield. The values they hold are completely aligned with my own. They put their people first, are interested in social justice and go the extra mile whenever they can. Therefore I feel privileged to be in my position. The mobile number on the website that you see is mine. I like to answer any enquiries myself. I understand that if you are considering moving to an Abbeyfield house then it is likely to be on the back of a stressful situation in your life. We like to think of ourselves as a friendly and welcoming place where you can enjoy your retirement without all the worries of keeping your house going. It's a big decision. If you are unsure if we are right for you, then pick up the phone and call me… there will be no hard sell, no pressure and no obligation, just a friendly voice to talk things through with. I look forward to meeting you!
My name is Julie , I am the house manager at the Abbeyfield Cheltenham house , where I enjoy serving and socialising with the residents. Originally from the Isle of Skye in the North West of Scotland , I moved to Cheltenham 15 years ago after living and working in Spain for 10 years .
Hi, I’m Sam, the Senior House Manager at the Prestbury House. I’ve worked at Abbeyfield for a few years and really enjoy being part of the residents lives. We have a lovely mixed group here and a real family feeling. I’m originally from Cheltenham and have spent many years in the catering industry, so nutritious home cooked meals are as important to me as the residents. I have been married for almost 25 years and have two beautiful grown up girls.
Hi, I'm Carven and I work on Sundays cooking roast dinners for the Abbeyfield residents. I moved here from Hong Kong 30 years ago and live with my husband. I have 3 lovely grown up children. As I work at a desk all week, Abbeyfield has given me the opportunity to be up on my feet whilst cooking and socialising with the residents. On Saturdays I love to be out and about doing my favourite thing of all.... shopping!
I'm Emma. Mother of 3 boys, my beloved dog Morris, 4 chickens, 3 mice, 2 hedgehogs and fish. Life is busy and hectic. I love nothing more and spending time at my allotment, which is in the middle of the countryside. I love long walks with my hubby and the dog and have a passion for baking
