VISTING DAD IS NOW A JOY!

What is not to like – optional communal morning coffee and afternoon tea, three meals a day with breakfast in your room, and two meals served in the communal dining room or in your fantastic en-suite room, all in a purpose built block, surrounded by a truly delightful garden, situated right at the centre of Chipping Sodbury, and all provided at a truly competitive rate that is hard to beat.

Abbeyfield House provides supported living for older people in the heart of Chipping Sodbury right off the M4, near Bristol!

I had been looking for a supported living option for my single elderly father.  He does not need residential care, but needs some help, oversight, and support with aspects of everyday life.  Abbeyfield House and its great team provide an ideal level of support, it allows him to continue to live an independent life, whilst giving his family a high degree of assurance that his basic needs are be provided for, and that there is someone looking in on him regularly throughout the day.

My Dad was quite resistant to any move away from the family home, but the three-week trial period was an ideal way to help ease the process of transition, without having to fully to mentally commit to the move.  In very short order I could see the benefits Abbeyfield was providing, but most importantly, for my father he felt safe and secure for the first time in a while, and really appreciates the wrap around support being provided by the staff in terms of meals, help with laundry, modern tech, and general oversight of his wellbeing.

My dad now freely admits that the move was the best thing for him, and he wishes he had done it many years ago.  For me, the move to Abbeyfield along with the staff, has returned a sense of calm and confidence that has been missing for a prolonged period.
